Description
The Seychelles Eco-Friendly Marathon took place for the first time in 2008, with a modest count of 330 participants. It was initiated by Mr. Dong Chang Jeong, Seychelles Honorary Consul General for South Korea, who is also head of the Seychelles Tourist Office in Korea. The event was conceived to contribute to Seychellois’ health and to unify Seychellois and visitors. The marathon indeed helps to bring Seychelles to the attention of more travelers and contributes to lifting the Seychelles brand around the world. For the 7th edition in Feb. 2014, the islands can expect to receive some 500 overseas participants, on top of several hundred local participants.
On Sunday 23 February, runners of the 7th edition of the Seychelles Eco-Friendly Marathon will set off from Beau Vallon at 7am, covering Northern and North Eastern areas of the main island of Mahe, as well as its capital, Victoria.
As for the structure of the marathon, there is something for a wide range of fitness levels – from 5km course to marathon which covers 42.195km this follows the philosophy of the Seychelles Eco-Friendly Marathon that is to spread the focus beyond mere competition, putting equal emphasis on appreciating exercise and being surrounded by the natural beauty of Seychelles.
Medals and prizes of a range of values are to be awarded to the top five category winners, and all participants who complete the race shall be awarded a t-shirt in addition to their Official Time Certificate.
The Seychelles Eco-Friendly Marathon is recognized internationally through the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) label. It is organized jointly by the National Sports Council, Seychelles Tourism Board and INOCEAN M&C (South Korean company headed by Mr. Dong Chang Jeong) which is also the main sponsor for the event.
The deadline for entry is the 31 January for overseas participants and 15 February for local participants.

Description
The Round Table Regatta has become an important national event in the Island’s calendar. The event will span over one weekend, from the 26th to the 28th September 2014 and takes place on the popular Beau Vallon Beach Front. The event’s jam-packed schedule includes numerous sports competitions, live performances by local artists as well as many fairground games. The weekend culminates with a hilarious ‘Greasy Pole Contest’, where competitors struggle to reach a cash prize fixed on top of a 6-metre wooden pole smothered in grease. Last, but far from least, is the all-important lottery draw at 1800hrs on Regatta Sunday.
Local and International companies alike support the event by manning food and beverage stalls or running promotional stations where the crowds benefit from generous give-aways and reduced prices on goods. All in all, the Round Table Regatta weekend brings many Seychellois and tourists together in a high-spirited, cause-driven event.

SUBIOS 2014 will take place between 21st to 23rd November 2014.
SUBIOS is an annual underwater film and image festival combining a range of daytime diving and snorkelling activities with free evening programmes of films, video and slide presentations by acclaimed guest speakers from around the world as well as local ones.
SUBIOS 2014 will feature a variety of events and presentations throughout the period of the festival. It will also include several photographic and video graphic contests for visitors and locals alike in the ‘Best Image’, ‘Best Video’, ‘Best Image of Seychelles’ and ‘Best Local Video’ categories.
The festival’s aim is to promote marine-based tourism in Seychelles and at the same time, to sensitize the local population to the importance of the role of the marine world in Seychelles’ environment.
